Representatives of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FIPA), Dr. Maida Bećirović and Jasmina Penava, participated in the Diaspora Business Meet 2026 business forum, which brought together entrepreneurs from Bosnia and Herzegovina and its diaspora, as well as representatives of academic institutions and public sector organizations.
In her opening remarks, FIPA Secretary Dr. Maida
Bećirović emphasized the Agency’s longstanding and successful cooperation with
diaspora organizations, notably the Bosnia International Forum and the
Association of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Diaspora. Through these partnerships,
FIPA has organized a number of significant business events both in Bosnia and
Herzegovina and internationally, with the objective of promoting the country’s
investment potential and showcasing investment projects to prospective
investors.
“Forums such as this, which strengthen economic and
business ties between the diaspora and their homeland, are of great importance.
Successful members of the Bosnia and Herzegovina diaspora possess valuable
knowledge, expertise, technologies, and resources that can make a significant
contribution to the country’s economic development,” Bećirović emphasized.
During the B2B meetings, concrete investment projects
in the fields of energy, agriculture, and business zones were presented.
A new networking platform, Diaspora Connecting, was
also presented during the forum. The platform aims to strengthen connections
among individuals and business entities originating from Bosnia and Herzegovina
worldwide through an innovative map of businesses founded by members of the
diaspora and people of Balkan origin. It is intended to foster networking,
facilitate cooperation, and support the establishment of valuable business
partnerships.
