The Director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FIPA) Marko Kubatlija spoke with the Austrian Ambassador to BiH Georg Diwald about the current economic cooperation between the two countries with a focus on investments.

Director Kubatlija informed Ambassador Diwald that Austria has been at
the 1st place in terms of the amount of investments in BiH for many
years, and that since 2023 it has been at the 3rd place with BAM 2,666,000,000
KM invested so far. The share of investments from Austria is 13.7% in the total
amount of foreign direct investments in BiH.
The most significant Austrian investors in the banking sector are:
- Raiffeisen Bank;
-Steiermärkische Bank und Sparkassen AG;
In addition to the banking sector, Austrian companies are also leaders
in the insurance sector: Grawe, Uniqa, Vienna Insurance Group (Wiener).
A significant investor from Austria in the manufacturing sector (food
industry) is the Studen Group.
The Ambassador Diwald, among other things, pointed out that around 200
Austrian companies operate in Bosnia and Herzegovina, that they employ around
8,000 workers, which contributes to the country's economic progress.
He also specified that the two countries have a good long-standing
cooperation. During the conversation, it was agreed to work on further
developing economic relations.
Austria supports young people to stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina through
various educational programs that it has been financing for many years, and supports
the European integration of our country.
