Representatives of the Government of RS, “China Development Bank” and the “EFT Group” power company signed an agreement on loan for the project of Thermal Power Plant (TPP) “Stanari” worth 350 million Euros, on 20th June in Banja Luka.
Project whose value totals at 550 million Euros, apart for the construction of TPP, also includes investment in enhancing the capacity of Mine “Stanari”. The project realization will be chaired by Dongfang Electric Corporation from China.
TPP “Stanari”, with 300 megawatts of installed capacity, will annually produce 2000 gig watt/h of electricity in the default mode of operation.
Construction of TPP will last 45 months and commissioning is scheduled in 2016.
Work will be performed according to the “turnkey” principle and about 90 percent of the construction works will be entrusted to domestic companies, while approximately 300 Chinese experts will monitor the site which will employ 1,200 people.
When project is finished, the mine will employ 600 workers, and TPP 250 workers.
